The Carolina Performing Arts Center
The Carolina Performing Arts Center is an arts organization that was founded in 1999 by a group of leaders from the community of Southern Pines, NC. The North Carolina Performing Arts Center was first named as Sandhills Ballet Theatre also known as SBT. SBT was under the direction of Rita Taylor and Gary Taylor. Both individuals have twenty years of experienced as: Teachers, dancers, choreographers and directors.In 2002 the company name was change to the Carolina Performing Arts Center. In that same year the company moved to a new location with the goal of expanding its services to encompass the whole performing art area, which will also offer music and drama.
The North Carolina Performing Arts Center dedicates themselves to be an integral part of the art in their community. They provide education programs, world class training, performing opportunities for all students. The program offer by the Carolina Performing Arts Center allows its students the unique opportunity to learn and study with professionals such as teachers and dancers who had performed worldwide. The directors and teachers are all successful and experienced individuals in the international choreographic, performance and instruct scene. The art center is committed to provide its students a healthy and secure environment for a satisfactory learning.
The North Carolina Arts School is an art university located in the city of Winston Salem. This art university official name is the University of North Carolina School of The Arts. This institution was founded in 1963 by Terry Sanford. The mission of this university is to train its students for professional careers in the visual, performing, television arts and film area.
The Memorial Hall was transformed to provide the individuals of the community an inspired gathering place, world class performances of music, theater and dance, lectures from very known speakers and other forms of artistic and cultural expressions.
